Effect of chemical treatments on germination of triploid watermelon seeds and control to bacterial fruit blotch

Prepared bactericide No.1and three kinds of commonly used chemicals were chosen to treat the seeds of triploid watermelon inoculated with Acidovoraxcitrulli.The effect of different agents at different concentrations on seed germination,root length and control effect against bacterial fruit blotch(BFB)were evaluated.Results showed that germination rate of seeds treated with 72% agricultural streptomycin sulfate SP 7.2×102μg/mL for 2h,40%formaldehyde solution 1.6×103μg/mL for 1hand bactericide No.1 0.5×104μg/mL for 2hwere increased by 10.5%,6.7% and 4.9%,respectively,compared with the control.Bactericide No.1demonstrated obviously good effects on BFB.Treatments with bactericide No.1 0.5×104μg/mL for 2h,1%HCl 3.7×103μg/mL for 30 min,40%formaldehyde solution for 1hand 72% agricultural streptomycin sulfate SP 7.2×102μg/mL for 2hhad the control efficacies of 74.7%,73.7%,58.5% and 49.3%,respectively.
