Signal Transduction Mechanism of Plant Heat Shock Response

Organisms respond to elevated temperatures by rapidly activating the expression of heat-shock genes. Heat shock causes rapid increase in some members of signal transduction pathway in cell.There has been some direct or indirect evidence indicating involvement of calcium and calmodulin in the regulation of heat shock respones. The activation of heat-shock gene transcription in eukaryotes during the stress response is mediated by the conserved heat shock transcription factor(HSF)which binds to the heat shock element(HSE) in the promoters of heat-shock genes. In this review, we briefly discuss the progress in studies on Ca 2+-CaM signal system of upstream and expression of heat-shock gene of downstream in heat shock signal transduction pathways, include author's work that keep upstream and downstream of signal transduction pathways into a whole chain.
