The Effect of Different NaCl Concentrations on Plant Growth, Photosynthetic Rate, Ion and Betaine Content of Seedling in Amaranthus tricolor

The study about the effects of different NaCl concentrations at 0,150,300,and 500 mmol· L on 40-day-old seedling of Amaranthus tricolor showed that the plant growth, photosynthetic rate, rate of transpiration and opening degree of stoma were all restrained with different degrees after lasting 5 d. The contents of Na+ and Cl- in the leaf and root of Amaranthus tricolor increased remarkably with the raise of the concentration of NaCl. The contents of betaine in all treatments with different concentrations of NaCl increased.
