Commonly used drugs for senile hypertension:selection and pharmaceutical analysis

Objective:To conduct pharmacological study on the commonly used drugs for senile hypertension patients and give suggestions on selection of the drugs.Methods:A retrospective review of 40 cases of elderly hypertensive patients in our hospital during May 2013 to May 2015 were conducted by reviewing and analyzing the clinical data characteristics and the antihypertensive drugs applied.Results:There is a wide range of commonly used drugs for senile hypertension.Among them,the most commonly used are angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors(ACEI),calcium channel blockers(CCB),diuretics,angiotensin antagonists(ARB),and beta blockers.Conclusion:in treatment of the elderly patients with high blood pressure,clinicians shall consider the feature of patient's condition and pharmacological issues in choosing the drugs for treatment to effectively improve the clinical effect.
