Analysis on factors affecting formation of blastocyst in human embryos with low morphological scores

Liu Ling;Zhou Yanhua;Zhang Yiwen;Department of Reproductive Medicine,Weihai Maternity and Child Health Hospital;
Objective:To explore the influencing factors on blastocyst formation of the embryos with low morphological scores.Method:Embryos of Day 3 with low morphological scores were collected and transferred into blastocyst culture.Number and quality of the blastocysts formed on Day 5 and Day 6 were observed.Factors including patient age,number of ova obtained,number of blastomeres,fragment rate and type of insemination were analyzed.Result:On Day 3,the numbers and quality of the blastocysts(the ones with low morphological scores,the transplatable ones,and the high quality ones) were affected by the number of the blastomeres and fragment rate.The numbers and quality of the blastocysts formed on Day 3 were not ralated with the patients age and method of insemination.Conclusion:The number of the blastomeres and fragment rate which were tied up with morphological score indeed impacted the blastocyst formation.Residual embryos can be screened for potential development using blastocyst culture.That is the way of increasing the number of available embryos in each treatment cycle.
