Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER-2)and the promoter methylation of HER-2in female breast cancer. Methods:Using real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR method to detect the methylation status of HER-2promoter in 38 cases of breast cancer tissues, and to analyze the clinical pathological data. Results:The methylation level of HER-2gene promoter in HER-2negative group was significantly higher than that in the positive group(P0.05).There was no significant correlation between age, lymph node metastasis, pathological grade,ER and HER-2gene methylation in breast cancer patients(P0.05).Breast tumor size was negatively correlated with methylation level of HER-2gene(r=-0.604,P 0.05).Conclusion:Methylation of HER-2gene inhibits the expression of HER-2in breast cancer tissues.
