Comparison of clinical efficacy of azithromycin and erythromycin in the treatment of children withmycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia

Objective:To compare the clinical effect of azithromycin and erythromycin in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children.Methods:78 selected children with mycoplasma pneumonia in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group(azithromycin)and control group(erythromycin).Each group were 39 patients.The clinical efficacy,improvement of clinical symptoms and adverse reactions between the two groups were compared.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group(97.44%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(82.05%)(P 0.05).The fever time,cough improvement time,rales disappearance time and hospital stay in the observation group were significantly shorter than the control group(P 0.05).Adverse reactions incidence rate in the observation group(abdominal pain,diarrhea,nausea,vomiting,phlebitis and puncture site pain)(12.82%)was significantly lower than that of the control group(28.21%)(P 0.05).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of azithromycin in the treatment of children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia is better than erythromycin,and high safety,it is worthy of clinical application.
