Effect of Irradiation of ~(60)Co on Chemical Components in Stem of Tobacco

60Co-γirradiation technique was applied to study different doses of irradiation(0,60,140,500,1200,2000 and 4000 kGy) on chemical components in stem of tobacco.Contents of the total soluble sugar,reductive sugar,polyphenol,total nitrogen,total alkali and amino acid were analyzed.The results indicated that content of total soluble sugar was increased by 8.4%~87.1% after irradiation,and significant differences were observed except for 60 kGy treatment.After irradiation,content of polyphenol was increased significantly,while contents of reductive sugar,total nitrogen,total alkali and amino acid changed unconspicuously.
