The Psychological Investigation of Bus Drivers.

Objective\ The object of this study was to explore psychological level and main health related problems in drivers. On basis of the results of this study we could adopt some measures to promote the drivers' health. Methods\ 603 drivers were tested with SCL 90. The results were compared with the norms of normal Chinese. Results\ The factorial score of somatization was significantly higher than that of the norms of normal Chinese. The other factorial scores were all significantly lower than that of the norms of normal Chinese. The differences between sex were significant for the factorial scores of somatization and phobia, and significant differences were found between age groups for the factorial scores of somatization and obsession. In addition we found that some symptoms such as lumbago were very common in drivers. Conclusion\ The incidence of work related somatization symptoms was very high, we should adopt some measures to protect the health of drivers.
