Review of the Progress on the Study of Etiology and Mechanism of Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infection in Children

Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infection (RRTI) is common disease in children. This article reviews the progress on the study of etiology and mechanism of recurrent respiratory tract infection in children in the past 10 years including both traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. The etiology and mechanism of recurrent respiratory tract infection in children are not only very complex but also related to many factors. The result of the study suggest that the etiology and mechanism of recurrent respiratory tract infection closely relate to the factors such as the characters of physiology and pathology of children, the congenital conditions, the physical quality, the factors due to extemal infections, the environmental factors, psychological factors, factors of diets and nutrients, the characters of dissection of physiology as well as the function of immunology. It will benefit to improve the prevention and treatment of the disease to extensively and profoundly study the etiology and mechanism of recurrent respiratory tract infection in children.
