Tissue Doppler imaging in evaluating CCA elasticity of healthy adults

Objective To discuss the feasibility of TDI for evaluating CCA elasticity and investigate the correlative indexes of CCA walls pulsatility in healthy people. Methods The R CCA of 105 healthy adults were examined by ultrasound with simultaneous ECG monitoring. The curve of CCA wall pulsatility was recorded by TDI technology and MedArchive Viewer software was used to measure time, velocity, acceleration of CCA wall pulsatility, et al. Results The CCA elasticity of the male was better than that of the female, especially in the anterior wall. The CCA elasticity of the group of age under 40 was better than the groups of age over 40. Anterior walls almost simultaneously pulsatility with posterior walls, but their directions were opposite. Conclusion The correlative indexes of CCA wall pulsatility in healthy people were obtained in this research. TDI can evaluate CCA elasticity, which has great clinical value.
