We extracted polysaccharides (LAPS) from Ligustrum lucidum Ait. and investigated the influence of LAPS on immunity in normal and immunosuppressive mice. The result showed that LAPS could enhance the phagocyte activity of peritoneal macrophages in normal and immunosuppressive mice. LAPS had no obvious effects on peripheral blood ANAE + lymphocyte ratio in normal mice. But LAPS could increase the ANAE + lymphocyte ratio and delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) reaction in the immunosuppressive mice induced by cyclophosphamide. The result suggested that LAPS had immunopotentiation and immunomodulation on immunity of the mice.
