Effect of CT-aided Enclosure Needling on the Defect of Neural Function after Stroke:a Report on 50 Cases

Objective To study the therapeutic effect of CT-aided enclosure needling on the defect of neural function after stroke.Methods One hundred cases were randomized into treatment group and control group with 50in each.The treatment group was treated with the enclosure needling at the vertical projection area of scalp on the same side of focus shown by CT,while the control group was treated with the traditional needling at the speech areaⅠ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ,motor area (parietotemporal anterior oblique line),and sensory area (parietotemporal posterior oblique line) of scalp on the focus side.The treatment was given once daily,15days as one course,two courses in all.The degrees of the defect of main neural function of both groups were scored before treatment,15and 30days after treatment respectively to evaluate the effect.Results The total ef- fective rate of the treatment group was 94%and that of the control group 76%,the difference was statistically significant (P 0.01).The scores of the defect of main neural function of both groups were significantly improved,and the difference was statistically significant (P0.01).The comparison of 30and 15days after treatment of the two groups showed statistical difference (P0.01).And the difference in the comparison of the same time point of the two groups after treatment was statistically significant (P0.01).Conclusion The CT-aided enclosure needling in the treatment of the defect of neural function after stroke is good in effect and better than the traditional scalp acupuncture in result.
