Forest fire is one of the main disasters that destroy the ecological environment, and bring the loss of forest resources, people′s lives and properties in China. Only by timely early warning, monitoring, and quick rescue of forest fires, can the losses brought by forest fire be effectively reduced. Satellite remote sensing technology has gradually become an important means of forest fire monitoring due to its wide coverage and short imaging period. This paper introduces the applications of satellite remote sensing technology in forest fire monitoring in China from forest fire prediction, fire dynamic monitoring and post-disaster assessment, and it explores the main problems and prospects of satellite remote sensing technology in the field of forest fire monitoring.
