Application and accuracy analysis of airborne LiDAR technology in topographic mapping

Airborne LiDAR technology helps us quickly and continuously obtain 3 D data information of surface objects. Compared with traditional remote sensing technology, this method is relatively less affected by weather, and has a high degree of automation, and great advantages in image generation speed. This paper takes an engineering project in a mountainous and hilly area as an example. It uses airborne LiDAR technology to obtain large-scale topographic maps in the study area, analyzes and evaluates the mapping accuracy. The results show that the root mean square error of horizontal point is 0.256 2 m, and that of elevation is 0.217 7 m, which completely meet the accuracy requirements of technical standards, and prove the reliability of the airborne LiDAR technology in topographic mapping in mountainous areas.
