A Study on Energy-Saving Measures for the Desulfurization Operation of the 660 MW Liquid Column Plus Spay Tower

The 660 MW liquid column plus spray tower is relatively new in domestic use,which mainly solves the desulfurization problem in high-sulfur areas with high energy consumption. Due to the large system,the power consumption of wet FGD generally accounts for about 1% ～ 2% of generated energy of the power plant,and even over2% in high-sulfur areas. Power consumption control is the primary problem in the economical operation of the desulfurization system. This paper focuses on the test and analysis of energy conservation and consumption reduction in the desulfurization operation. By adjusting the operation mode of the slurry circulating pumps of the front and rear towers and oxidation fans as well as adopting energy-saving approaches like frequency conversion adjustment,the power consumption rate has been reduced by 0. 3% per year with 40 000 tons of desulfurization powder and200 000 tons of water being saved.
