Effects of TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6 in acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury

Objective To explore the roles of TNF-α,IL-1 and IL-6 in pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis-associated lung injury(APALI).Methods Serum TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6 were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in 70 patients with acute pancreatitis in the first 24h and 10 heathy controls,blood gas analysis was given at the same time.Results In the first 24h,there were 57 patiests with acute lung injury in 70 patients(81.43%),the level of sreum TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6 in the patients with acute pancreatitis were markedly higher than that of heathy controls group,especially in the APALI group.The level of sreum TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6 did not contribute to the severity of ALI.Conclusion TNF-α,IL-1 and IL-6 are involved in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury(APALI) and APALI may be the result of imbalance of systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS) and compensatory anti-inflammatory response syndrome(CARS).
