LIAO Kaihuai ;LIU Lixiong ;ZHU Xuemei ;QIAO Wenwen;
The protection and activation of historical and cultural districts are related to people's well-being, and it is an important way to enhance the sense of happiness and sense of gain in the city. This paper reviews the process of protection and activation of Guangzhou's historical and cultural districts, and argues that Guangzhou attaches great importance to the protection of history and culture and the micro-renovation of historical districts in pursuit of a balance of multiple interests. It also analyzes the problems of historic districts such as improper use of some historical buildings, loss of cultural value, insufficient supporting infrastructure, and incomplete protection of historical district styles and features. By drawing lessons from international experiences, this paper puts forward three coping strategies that should pay attention to the protection of distinctive characteristics, strengthening environmental improvement, and improving management systems.
