Analysis of Readers' Use Intention and Its Influencing Factors in Mobile Library Under the COVID-19

FU Chao;Fuxin Library;
Mobile libraries have made it possible to move data interactions from “ between libraries” to “ at your fingertips” in the context of the New Epidemic. Although much research has been done on the possible value of mobile libraries, there is a lack of analysis on the willingness of patrons to use them and the factors influencing their use in the epidemic. Based on a combination of the I-S model and the S-O-R model, a scale of 37 observed variables was designed to analyse reader use of the mobile library app and its influencing factors under the new coronavirus epidemic, based on a survey of 2424 readers. The study shows that patrons' willingness to use mobile libraries did not increase despite the frequent closure of physical spaces in physical libraries under the new coronavirus epidemic. Using structural equation modelling, the study concludes that perceived brand image, electronic word of mouth, and perceived service quality were the main factors influencing patrons' use of mobile libraries, which reveals new academic clues for further optimizing mobile library design and services in current libraries in China.
