Aseismic Analysis of Western Machine Technology Business Centre with Energy Dissipation Braces

This paper presents the vibration control method of Western Machine Technology Business Centre in Xi'an which use a new type of energy dissipation device named unbonded brace (UBB). A design procedure based on the nonlinear time history analysis is proposed where the main parameter, yield force, is recommended. The analysis results indicate that the parameters obtained with the new design method are more valuable to use in the design and the response of structure can be significantly reduced with the installation of UBB.
