ZHOU Jinsheng;DAI Ruqian;School of Foreign Languages,Hubei Univ.of Tech.;The Institute of Belt-Road Cultural Studies,Wuchang Univ.of Tech.;
The concepts of "Chinese","spoken Chinese" and "written Chinese" are the most extensively used core words in linguistics.The grasp of their concepts is related to whether the understanding of the essence about the question can be well discussed.Therefore,in view of the misunderstanding and use of ambiguity,it is necessary to make a comparative study and put forward some reasonable opinions:"spoken Chinese" refers to "the audio frequency system that expresses ideas with the help of syllable tone,abbreviated as 'speech'";" written Chinese "refers to" the graphic symbol system that uses strokes to express ideas,abbreviated as 'ideogram'";"Chinese" is the combination of the two;Chinese language in a broad sense refers to the abstract system that can reflect thought whereas in a narrow sense can be an equivalent of discourse.The current linguistics actually researches on discourse and the way people talk to each other.Decisive action must to be taken immediately to change this situation.
