Objective To investigate the pai n relieving effect of vibroacoustic therapy on patients with laryngeal cancer afte r surgery. Methods A total of 87 patients were divided randomly into two groups:an experimental group (n=45) and a control group (n=42). The control group was given routine nursing care and the patients in the experi mental group were treated with vibroacoustic therapy from the 2rd day after oper ation (once per day, 30-60 min each time). The pain relieving effects in the 3rd , 5th and 7th day were compared. Results The effective rate of p ain relief in the experimental group was 53.3%,77.8%,95.6% and 26.2%,33.3 %,71.4% in the control group, respectively and the differences in the effecti ve rates between the two groups were statistically significant (P0.01, for all). No adverse effects were observed. Conclusion The vibroaco ustic therapy is safe and better than the routine method in terms of pain reliev ing effect for patients with laryngeal cancer after surgery.
