INFLUENCE OF GYPENOSIDES ON THROMBUS AND COAGULATION FUNCTION IN VIVO AND IN VITRO

A model was established by intravenous injection of higher molecular weight dextran (HMWD), which exhibited extended thrombus development process and malfunctioned coagulation in vivo and in vitro. The results showed that, with the model animals, gypenosides (GPs) significantly reduced the length, fresh and dry weight of thrombus in vitro and shortened thrombosis time, lengthened coagulation time in vivo and prothrombin time in vitro, and significantly increased kaolin part thromboplastin time (KPTT).
