A Study on Soil Hydro-physical Properties and Water Conservation Function of Rehabilitated Forests in Degraded Limestone Red-soil Region

The soil(0~40 cm)properties and water conservation function of four main rehabilitated forests(A-Liquidambar formosana plantation,B-mixed forest of Firmiana simplex and Alnus cremastogyne Burkill,CToona sinensis Roem plantation,D-mixed forest of Cornus macrophylla and Toona sinensis Roem)in the degraded limestone redsoil region were measured in Xiushui County,Jiangxi Province,the results showed as follows:(1)With increasing soil depth,the variation trend of soil bulk density of the four main rehabilitated forests increased,however the variation trend of total porosity,non-capillary porosity and capillary porosity decreased.(2) The order of the average moisture capacity was: C(24.01%),A(23.43%),B(21.64%),D(19.56%);the order of the average capillary moisture capacity was: C(27.15%),B(25.23%),A(24.95%),D(24.18%);and the order of the average saturation holding capacity was: C(30.17%),D(28.79%),B(28.78%),A(27.44%);(3)The order of the water conservation function in soil(0~40 cm)was:C(2 157.2 t/hm2),B(2 078.4 t/hm2),D(2 062.0 t/hm2),A(2 033.8 t/hm2).
