Extraction and purification of proanthocyanidins from R.Roaea

The extraction of proanthocyanidins from Rhodiola rosea was studied. Ethanol is solvent,the effects of five factors such as concentrations of ethanol ,time of extraction,ratio of solid-liquid,pH value and temperature of extraction were investigated. Through orthogonal test,the optimum conditions of extraction were obtained on the basis of single factor test.The optimum condition were as follows: the concentrations of ethanol 70%,extraction time 90 minutes,the rate of solid phase to solution phase 1:25,pH value 5.0 and the temperature 80℃.On this condition,the percent of proanthocyanidins in R.Roaea was 3.6%,the average yield of proanthocyanidins was 96.5%. Then the extract was isolated and purified ,at last freeze-dry and make the finished product solid powder .The extraction percent of Proanthocyanidins is 35.0%,and the percent of collection is 95.6%.
