Study on the Cognitive Features of Web Navigation Process Based on Problem Solving Theory

Rarely current navigation models describe the cognitive features in web navigation.The paper introduces the problem solving theory to build a four-stage Web navigation processing model.Through an experiment of people navigating in a open access website,we collect data by thinking aloud method and analyze them with a qualitative analysis tool Nvivo.Our case finds that users show different cognitive mental activities in different Web navigation stages.Finally,we includes the cognitive features in the navigation processing model based on problem solving theory,which can provide more reference value for analyzing user Web navigation psychological mechanism.
