Formation of Organizational Power in the Innovation Network:Based on Knowledge Characteristics

Shi Chengqi;Shaanxi University of Science and Technology;
Some latest studies show that the innovation network,which has for long been considered as consisting of balanced relations,is hierarchical,and researches on the impact of knowledge power in the network become a hot topic.There are,however,traditionally little within-field studies on the formation of organizational power.To address this gap,this paper investigates the formation process from knowledge to power by:① analyzing the formation path of power through multiple levels of an innovation network;②providing a multilevel framework for the attributes of organization's knowledge,and analyzing their impacts on power;③and conducting an empirical study to test the hypotheses.The results describe how organizational knowledge could generate power through multiple levels,and provides a foundation for further within-field studies.
