With internal and external aggression in modern China, overseas Chinese were concerned about the motherland. Especially in the critical Period of the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese war, they did their best to provide support. However, affected by the war, the overseas Chinese in difficult situations, especially the overseas Chinese students whose study and life were unsustainable, returned to China to seek development. Therefore, the government had promulgated a series of subsidy policies for returning overseas Chinese students.Although there were problems of disputes between relevant departments, insufficient funds, and cumbersome application procedures, the policies had improved the plight of returning overseas Chinese students to a large extent and cultivated a group of anti-Japanese war and nation-founding talents, which showed the cohesion of the Chinese nation.
