Observation on effect of extract of gingko biloba combined with mecobalamin on diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Objective To observe the curative effect of extracts of gingko biloba combined with mecobalamin on diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods 88 patients were divided into treatment group consisted of 46 cases intravenously given extracts of gingko biloba 25 ml added with 0.9% sodium chloride 250 ml q.d. VD. in combination with mecobalamin 500μg q.d. im. at the same time for 4 weeks and the control group consisted of 42 cases intramuscularly given mecobalamin alone with the same dosage as that for the treatment group. The results were observed. Results The symptoms and sings in the treatment group and the control group were significantly improved ( P 0.05 and P 0.01),the speed of nerve conduction was also significantly increased ( P 0.05 and P 0.01). Conclusion The curative effect of extracts of gingko biloba combined with mecobalamin on the diabetic peripheral neuropathy is better than that of Mecobalamin alone.
