Study of Contacting Friction and Load-bearing Performance of One-way Clutch

Friction and load-bearing characteristics of the one-way clutch with multi-bodies contacting type were discussed.Finite element method was adopted to analyze the characteristics of friction self-locking and contacting strength between contacting body and inner-outer races.A mathematical model of friction and load-bearing performance of this clutch was established.By numerical analyzing,both the maximum stress position generated by contacting,and the stress distributing curve of inner-outer races and contacting body were presented.By counting the influence of static friction and rigid body displacement when friction locks up and considering sliding friction existed in the process of contact friction locking up,friction locking-up state of the clutch was determined accurately through establishing slipping zone.The result indicates that friction self-locking characteristic of this clutch is related with geometrical shape of contacting components,material characteristic,loading capacity and contacting state.The process of friction meshing is coupling of geometry and tribology.The validity of this method was proved by the calculation and analysis of an instance.
