Preparation and Electrochemical Properties of Carbon Materials Derived from Poplar Flocs

The environmental polluted poplar floc was used as raw material,washed with water and removed by ultrasonic,and calcined in a tubular furnace at different temperature for 2 hours to obtain hollow poplar flocs biomass carbon.The samples were characterized by SEM,and their charge and discharge voltage curve,cyclic performance and rate performance as negative electrode for lithium ion battery were studied. The experimental results show that the charge and discharge curve of hollow carbon from poplar floc is similar to that of most carbon based materials,but the cycle performance and rate performance are better. The performance of poplar floc biomass carbon obtained at 800 ℃ is the best,after 300 cycles at 1 000 m A·g~(-1)current density,a high discharge capacity of 340 m Ah·g~(-1)can be released. It is suitable to be used as a carbon source of metal compound and carbon composite anode materials.
