Study on restoring force models of steel beam-column connections with composite action

In order to investigate the seismic performance of beam-column connections with composite action used in tall steel buildings,the experiments were conducted on full-scale specimens of beam-column connections subjected to low-cyclic loading.Based on the test results and analysis,the hysteretic characteristics of composite beam-column connections were obtained,including ductility,energy-dissipation capacity and so on.Then bilinear restoring force models of beam-column connections with composite effect are established by considering the degradation of stiffness and strength of the specimens.The proposed models can be applied to elasto-plastic time history analyses and the design of welded flange-bolted web connections of steel moment frames with the composite effect of the slab.
