Objective To investigate the satisfaction of the medical insurance insured residents of Dongguan urban and rural residents on the medical insurance compensation policy and its influencing factors, and to analyze the effective ways to improve the satisfaction and optimize the medical insurance compensation policy. Methods From October 1 to December 31, 2021, a multi-stage sampling method was used to select 282 urban and rural medical insured residents from 7 towns and 2 villages in Dongguan as the survey objects. Collect data through the questionnaire survey. The satisfaction index in the questionnaire adopts the 5-level measurement method of Likert scale to statistically analyze whether the different characteristics of the insured residents had differences in the satisfaction with the medical insurance compensation policy of urban and rural residents. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of the insured residents' satisfaction with the medical insurance compensation policy of urban and rural residents. Results The average score of satisfaction of the insured residents with the medical insurance compensation policy for urban and rural residents was 3.13. Marital status of insured residents(χ~2=21.040, P=0.050), health status(χ~2=33.986, P=0.005), concern of medical insurance compensation policy for urban and rural residents(χ~2=66.311, P0.001), awareness of medical insurance compensation policy for urban and rural residents(χ~2=114.173, P0.001), time selection for medical treatment in medical institutions(χ~2=16.556, P=0.044) and selection of medical institutions in case of ill health(χ~2=16.556, P=0.002) had an impact on the satisfaction of medical insurance compensation policy of urban and rural residents. The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the health status of the insured residents(OR=0.638, 95%CI:0.417-0.978,P=0.039),the awareness of the medical insurance compensation policy of urban and rural residents(OR=1.497,95%CI:1.059-2.116,P=0.022)and the choice of medical institutions in bad time(OR=0.445,95%CI:0.236-0.839,P=0.012)were all factors affecting the satisfaction of the medical insurance compensation policy of urban and rural residents. Conclusions The satisfaction of the insured residents with the medical insurance compensation policy of urban and rural residents is between "average" and "relatively satisfied".It is suggested to focus on residents with poor health status, strengthen the publicity of residents' medical insurance compensation policy, and improve the reasonable allocation mechanism of medical institutions resources,so as to further improve residents' satisfaction with the medical insurance compensation policy.
