Study on Effects of Carrageenan Filling Proporation on Properties of Linear Low Density Polyethylene

Meng Decheng;T-RUBBER Co.,Ltd.;
The effects of different filling proportions of carrageenan on properties of linear low density polyethylene(LLDPE) were studied.The results showed that the filling of carrageenan could affect the crystallization behavior of LLDPE by accelerating its crystallization, reducing its crystallinity, and then affecting its mechanical properties.The filling of carrageenan has great effect on the elongation at break of LLDPE.When 5%-8% carrageenan is filled, the elongation at break and tensile strength of the material can increase simultaneously, but the plasticizing time and torque also increase.Carrageenan can be used as a green filling material to modify LLDPE.
