Objective It is to explore the effect of mild hypothermia treatment on mechanical ventilation of acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) and its mechanism. Methods 97 cases of patients with ARDS were divided into mild hypothermia group and control group, the changes of mechanical ventilation times and parameters in both groups were statistied, the contents of IL-6 in local lung tissue and plasma procalcitonin(PCT) were determined, the changes of lung compliance changes were assessed by end expiratory closed respiratory airway method, the oxygen saturation was also measured. Results Compared with that in the control group, the mechanical ventilation time was shorter, ventilator support was less, the levels of IL-6 in local lung tissue and plasma PCT and alveolar-arterial oxygen were lower, the lung compliance, arterial oxygen tension and lung function were improved more in mild hypothermia group. Conclusion Mild hypothermia treatment has a good effect on mechanical ventilation, which may be related with improving lung function, strengthening anti-inflammatory effect and improving blood oxygen.
