Research progress on the effectiveness and safety of Eye Exercises on intervention myopia in children and adolescents

Eye Exercises is a massage of acupuncture points around the eyes under the guidance of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) theory. Based on the theory of meridians and acupuncture points, to apply massage techniques to the eyes to play a role. The National Health Commission advocates "adhering to Eye Exercises and other eye protection measures" to prevent and control myopia in children and adolescents in a comprehensive manner. In this paper, we summarize the effectiveness and safety of Eye Exercises in the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents, and find that Eye Exercises can relax the eye muscles, relieve eye fatigue,promote blood circulation, relieve lag, improve regulation function, improve visual acuity, and delay the onset of myopia, while having a good safety profile.
