Screen Exposure in Young Children:The Current Situation,Effects,and Family Guidance Suggestions

Screen exposure has become a global public health issue of great concern.The overall situation of screen time exposure for young children is worrisome,and is characterized by long exposure times among younger ages,with some variation among children with different traits.Screen exposure is closely related to early childhood development in that it has an adverse effect on their basic linguistic and motor skills and increases the risk of social,emotional and behavioral problems.Guidance should be offered to families from the perspectives of parental support,screen time,screen content and non-screen surroundings.
