Rockfall is a frequent engineering disaster confronted by constructions in mountain areas. The design of preventive structure is based on the evaluation of the rockfall trajectory. So it is very important to properly caculate the rockfall trajectory. The paper has analysed four main types of the rockfall trajectory, picked out the major controlling factors of the trajectory and set up a series of caculation formulas on the view of the engineering utilities. Besides, the paper also studied the impact restitution coefficients and the rolling friction coefficients.
