Tick Distribution in Xinjiang and Research Progress of Tick-Borne Diseases

The epidemiological features of insect-borne infectious diseases present new trends in recent years due to the rapid flow of people and logistics,including the occurrence of previously undiscovered infections,expanding resurgence areas of the existing diseases and increasingly difficult situation for epidemic control.Xinjiang is located in the northwest border of China with diverse geographical landscape,abundant wildlife resources and adjacent with eight countries.This article reviews the species and distributions of the main ticks,tick-borne pathogens in Xinjiang with hopes of supporting warning system for foreign diseases and sharing information with international organizations.
