Objective To observe effects of cupping at back-shu acupoints on functions of cell immunity and humoral immunity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) during stable stage. Methods A total of 80 patients with COPD during stable stage were averagely randomized into treatment group and control group.Patients in control group were treated with routine therapies such as spasmolysis, relieving asthma and cough, eliminating phlegm and so on;additionally, patients in treatment group were treated with cupping at back-shu acupoints. Before and after treatment, changes of immunoglubin and subtypes of T lymphocytes were observed. Results Compared with those before treatment, levels of immunoglobin G,immunoglobin A and immunoglobin M and values of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ ratio were significantly increased after treatment in treatment group;furthermore, those indicators were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.01).Conclusion Cupping at back-shu acupoints can significantly improve immunologic functions in patients with COPD during stable stage, which contributes to the mechanism of treatment.
