Design of LED Large Screen Display System

In the paper, a design scheme of LED large screen display system is introduced, with Micro Controller 89C52 as the core of control circuit, and the mode of dynamic scanning of 16 lines for display in the drive circuit. The system uses two frame display buffers: A and B. When 89C52 is writing the display data into buffer A, one automatic address producer produces buffer B's address signal and reads B's data to be sending to the display screen. The "read" and "write" processes of A and B work at the same time and in turn. LED display screen with larger size is realized by common MCU. This system makes serial communication with personal computer by RS232, and can work independently without a upper computer. This display screen can display Chinese characters and numbers with many kinds of fonts and different display modes. This system has already been used in the field.
