Effect of Cement on the Performance of Gypsum-based Self-leveling Material

The effect of adding dosage of Portland cement or calcium aluminate cement into gypsum-based selfleveling material has been studied in this paper,including fluidity,setting time,strength and intenerating coefficient.And the characterization gypsum based self-leveling material within either cement has been analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction,calorimetry,mercury injection apparatus and environmental scanning electron microscopy,containing hydration products,hydration heat,pore structure and microstructure.Results show that the mixture has increased initial fluidity and decreased gradual loss of 30 min fluidity and setting time with the increasing content of Portland cement.The phenomena of fluidity and setting time with calcium aluminate cement dosage was similar to the above.The increasing dosage of Portland cement has resulted in strength and intenerating coefficient improving initially and deteriorating subsequently,which have achieved optimal performance at the 8%cement content.With the increasing content of calcium aluminate cement,the flexural strength for 28 days and intenerating coefficient have improved with large fluctuations,which got the lowest point at the 13% cement content.But the compressive strength has got a steady growth with the increasement of calcium aluminate cement.It was a remarkable fact that there were weak diffraction peak of ettringite whether the dosage was Portland cement or calcium aluminate cement.
