As important intermediary establishments that help to make united talents and enterprises inviting applications for a job, headhunters are playing more and more important roles in international and domestic labor markets. On the basis of the summary of the related foreign and domestic literature on headhunters, through in-depth interviews, and by means of questionnaires and statistical analyses, we have made a case study to examine the effectiveness of headhunters' matching practices, founded on the evidence from samples of companies and mangers. Our findings are that a part of the matching practices activated by headhunters have produced positive effects on recommending talents for companies, and that most of the said practices for the selection of managers have produced positive effects on the career development of managers to be selected. In this article, we have offered some suggestions about the policies for the improvement of the practice of the operation of China's headhunters and for the integrated construction of China's headhunter industry.
