Effect on Properties of Phyllostachys Heterocycla Cv Pubescens by Heat Treatment with Oil Medium

Using four to six years bamboo as the test material,we treated the bamboo strips in hot oil and then researched the effects of the oil medium to the properties of bamboo under different treatment temperature and time. We tested the change of bending strength,surface wettability,color,film adhesion of bamboo before and after heat treatment. The results showed that:With the rising of heat treatment temperature,the bending strength reduced,the higher the temperature is,the greater the decline is. Under the three types of heat treatment temperature,it was a downward trend with the extension of treatment time,but the change was less. Compared with the control material,the static contact angle of the surface of the heat-treated bamboo increased and the wettability decreased. Effect of heat treatment temperature on the bamboo surface wettability was greater than the heat treatment time. Although the contact angle increased after the heat treatment,but it was not more than 90 °and could meet the requirements of finishing. Color of treated bamboo became darker uniformly over the entire thickness and length directions,so that it had good surface decoration performance. With the extension of time and temperature,the color got darker and darker. Heat treatment time and heat treatment temperature had little effect on film adhesion.
