BUCKLING ANALYSIS AND STABILITY DESIGN OF WIND TURBINE TOWER WITH GEOMETIC IMPERFECTIONS

The engineering algorithm and finite element analysis method of critical buckling load of the wind turbinetower under combined loads were introduced. A 5 MW wind turbine tower was taken as the research object,the criticalbuckling loads obtained by different methods were compared. The calculation results show that the critical buckling loadachieved from the linear buckling analysis is larger because of ignoring the influence of nonlinear factors,while thenonlinear buckling analysis is similar to calculation results obtained from engineering algorithm. According to thecalculated results,the proposed engineering algorithm according to the relevant standards has certain limitations,andthe finite element method is needed to carry out auxiliary analysis in the actual calculation,meanwhile,a nonlinearbuckling analysis method considering the initial defects is put forward.
