ZHANG Yingqin (School of International Business, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi'an Shaanxi,710062,China)
The theoretical basis of Deng Xiaoping's thought on regional economy is common prosperity by means of allowing some regions and people to get rich first and gradually achieving common prosperity, characterized by imbalanced development, through the earlier-prospered eastern region bringing along the later-prospered western region. This thought is based on a scientific analysis of the historical and practical features of the development of China's regional economy. This thought is of extremely important significance to the implementation of scientific view of development by making overall planning for coordinated development of China's regional economy.
