The Influence of Peer Relationship of College Students on Internet Addiction:The Mediating Effect of Core Self-Evaluations

Research had shown that peer relationship may be an important predictive indicator for the internet addiction.Studies had also found a close correlation between core self-evaluation and internet addiction. However,the underlying mechanism among peer relationship,core self-evaluation and internet addiction was still to be explored. The present study investigated 303 college students by approaches scaling their core self-evaluations,internet addiction and interpersonal relationship. Results showed that a good peer relationship and core self-evaluation was an effective predictive factor for the internet addiction,and that core self-evaluation as a key variable played a mediating role in correlation between peer relationship and internet addiction.
