Antioxidant Activity of Different Extracts of Dischidia chinensis

Objective:To study the antioxidant activity of different extracts of Dischidia chinensis.Method: The total phenol and total flavonoids content of ethanol extract,acetone extract and ethyl acetate extract from D.chinensis.Their antioxidant activities were investigated in present study,employing various methods established in vitro systems,such as the scavenging activities on DPPH radical and ABTS.+radical,and reducing power.Result: These plants possessed good scavenging activities on ABTS.+radical(reaching to 88.97%) in the sequence of EAE EE AE,but weak scavenging activities on DPPH.radical(only reaching to 38.37%).Their reducing power activities are in the sequence of BHT EAE EE AE with BHT as a control.Conclusion: This study showed that EAE of D.chinensis might be valuable antioxidant natural sources and seem to be applicable in both healthy medicine and foods.
